Living in D.C., an emailer asks what electoral balls I am going to attend.

Hmm, don't know. . . . probably won't go to any, though I will be at the Texas State Society's Black Ties and Boots ball the night before.

I worked at the last innauguration (ended up on the Capitol Stairs, 50 feet from the president with no one between me and him) and don't imagine I could have better seating this time. I'll probably go skiing . . . make a long weekend out of it.
