Coincidence,

Or Not?

Most newspapers have pretty strict editorial standards for commentators. Amongst those, is a requirement that an Op Ed piece be exclusive to that paper. The Wall Street Journal's policy states, in part
If you would like to submit an article for consideration, it must be exclusive to the Journal. Your article should be a strong argument about an issue in the news.


The Washington Post has a similar policy
The Post accepts pieces between 700 and 800 words in length, and they must be written exclusively for The Post


So, consider my surprise upon looking at todays Wall Street Journal and Washington Post to find these two seperate op eds:

Why Snub the Tories? by Peter Stothard in the Wall Street Journal and Why Snub the Tories? by Anne Applebaum in the Washington Post. Sure, their not identical, but . . . . . .
