Monday Song Lyrics

I used to post a ton of song lyrics here - calling it the Monday Song Lyric in tribute and flattering imitation of Juan Non Volohk's Sunday Song Lyric. I haven't posted anyin some time (and he hasn't in an even longer time) but since I am still giddy over the Pink Floyd reunion at the Live 8 Concert I thought I would throw up the lyrics.

I'll try to put up links to my past Monday Song Lyrics at some point too.

Breathe

Lyrics: Waters
Music: Waters, Gilmour, Wright
Vocals by: Gilmour

Breathe, breathe in the air
Don't be afraid to care
Leave but don't leave me
Look around, choose your own ground
For long you live and high you fly
And smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry
And all you touch and all you see
Is all your life will ever be

Run Rabbit run
Dig that hole, forget the sun,
And when at last the work is done
Don't sit down it's time to dig another one
For long you live and high you fly
But only if you ride the tide
And balanced on the biggest wave
You race towards an early grave

Money

Lyrics/Music: Waters
Vocals by: Gilmour

Money, get away
Get a good job with more pay and you're O.K.
Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and
make a stash
New car, caviar, four star daydream,
Think I´ll buy me a football team

Money, get back
I'm all right Jack, keep your hands off my stack.
Money, it's a hit
Don't give me that do goody good bullshit
I'm in the hi-fidelity first class travelling set
And I think I need a Lear jet

Money, it's a crime
Share it fairly, but don't take a slice of my pie
Money, so they say
Is the root of all evil today
But if you ask for a rise, it's no surprise
that they're giving none away

Wish You Were Here

Lyrics: Waters
Music: Waters, Gilmour
Vocals by: Gilmour (though both sang at Live 8)

So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell
Blue skies from pain
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war
for a lead role in a cage?

How I wish, how I wish you were here
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl
year after year
Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here

Comfortably Numb
(for what its worth, if you haven't seen the Live 8 video yet, they kicked the shit out of every other band on the bill with this one. Its a travesty that anyone was allowed to play after this one)

Lyrics: Waters
Music: Gilmour, Waters
Vocals by: Waters, Gilmour

Hello !
Is there anybody in there
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
I Can ease your pain
and get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts

There is no pain, you are receding
a distant ship smoke on the horizon
You're only coming through in waves
Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got the feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb

OK
Just a little pinprick
There'll be no more aaaaaaaaaah!
but you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go

There is no pain, you are receding
a distant ship smoke on the horizon
You're only coming through in waves
Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse
out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
and I've become comfortably numb
