Bloggin Politicos
Virginia's Lt. Governor and Democratic Candidate for Governor Tim Kaine has put up TK4G, a campaign blog.
Not sure if he is actually writing the postings himself (they are signed Tim) but he is accepting comments. Thats pretty cool of him, even though I do have doubts about his credibility on the all important freedom issues.
To his credit, he has a policy issue page supporting the second amendment, but whether he is sincere or simply speaking out of the usual liberal democrat forked tongue is anyone's guess. While its generally true he wasn't that bad on the issue as Mayor of Richmond, he wasn't really in a position to do much thanks to Virginia's wonderful local preemption statute. The one thing he could have done though is prosecute one of those frivolous lawsuits against gun manufacturers. He didn't, but thats only after he initially supported the idea and asked for a study to review the possibilities of Richmond joining the lawyer swarm (I guess they found that the Virginia Courts aren't friendly to abusive and baseless litigation).
The important question still remains to be answered. He says on his web page
Both the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of Virginia guarantee that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed
But what he fails to answer is whether he believes the people means people in the "you and me" sense or if he sides with the Commies in his party who think it means people in the "People's Republic" sense.
Enquiring minds want to know.
