Costa Rican Gun Laws

He Who Shall Not Be Named has a post about boomers retiring south of the border and he says all the countries have draconian gun control laws. I posted a comment mentioning a segment I once saw on World Poker Tour saying that everyone can carry a gun in Costa Rica. They showed how people had to check their guns when they entered the casino.

Any of you lawyer types know what the gun laws in Costa Rica are really like? I tried to do a Google search to find out, but couldn't.
