In Its Right Place!

Thats where the American public has put the revisionist crap that is Disney's new take on 'The Alamo'. After spending over $100 million dollars to make this politically correct pile of dog turd, the movie made less than $10 million this weekend on a major national roll out. In fact, its opening on 2,609 screens across the country averages out to about $3,526 per screen. Heck, thats almost less than Al Bundy's Used Shoe Store pays to plug its wares on the pre-movie slides.

Figuring the usual 50/50 split with the box office, that figure means less than $5 million went back upstream from the theaters to the Distributor, probably not even enough to pay for the actual film the movie was printed on, let alone pay off the distribution costs or even begining to make a dent in the $100 million plus production costs.

This is quite a showing for the first major Disney picture following the near ouster of Michael Eisner and the failure to renew the Pixar contract.
