Blegging

OK, so I've got a bleg for y'all.

I know Blogger Sucks . . . and one of these days I will get around to running a real blog, but for the meantime I am stuck with it.

My bleg is, how do I insert an HTML table into blogger without having all sorts of annoying lines and spaces also placed in the text?

I would like to create a table to list all the Advent Calendar posts but so far have been unable to figure out a way to format it without it looking like total crap.

If there is a trick to this, or if blogger simply doesn't accept Tables, I'd love to know.
