Educational Quagmire
Once more, Nicholas Kristof shows why he is truly America's brightest liberal columnist. Whether I agree with his worldview or not, he often times seems like the only one on the left cognizant of the real problems faced by America (and indeed the world) from our dangerous experiment with political correctness. Today he simply takes to task anti free trade economic protectionists and the sorry state of our secondary educational system. In America today liberals too often value the humanities over hard science and math and its hurting our economy and workforce. While he doesn't mention it outright, his column also begs further thought on our educational grading curves and our troubling history of passing students for the sake of passing them.
Read it. Its important stuff.
